The First Five Days of 12 Days of Giving: Moments That Matter

The start of our 12 Days of Giving has been filled with connection, creativity, and community. Each gift is thoughtfully chosen to bring comfort, joy, and meaningful moments to the older adults we serve. Over the first five days, thousands of small acts of kindness have come together to make a big impact.

Here is a look at how the season has begun:

Day One: Words from the Heart

We kicked off 12 Days of Giving by delivering Words from the Heart. Each client received a variety pack of ten handmade greeting cards from Creative Kindness, paired with a pen. This simple gift offers an easy and heartfelt way to stay connected with friends and loved ones throughout the season.

Special thanks to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Denver Alumni Association for helping pack this gift with care. Their time and attention helped set the tone for a meaningful start to the program.

Day Two: Mindful Moments

On Day Two, clients received Mindful Moments, featuring a coloring book and a package of colored pencils. This playful gift encourages relaxation, creativity, and mental engagement. For many clients, these quiet moments of focus and creativity provide both comfort and joy.

Day Three: Handmade Holiday Cheer

Day Three celebrated the power of creativity and community with Handmade Holiday Cheer. Waterless snow globe decorations created by Nourish volunteers added a charming touch to the holidays while serving as a reminder that many hands care about each client.

These special decorations were made possible by volunteers from Lift Up Littleton, our Crafternoon program, Twilio, and participants in our 12 Days workshops. Each snow globe is filled with time, creativity, and a lot of love.

Day Four: Holiday Poinsettias

Live poinsettias brought color and life into homes on Day Four. Generously provided by Carrie’s Cause and The Plant Ranch, these beautiful plants added a festive burst of holiday cheer and a sense of warmth that lasts well beyond the day of delivery.

Day Five: Comfort and Care

Day Five focused on nourishment and warmth with a comforting combination of Lentiful Chili, Women’s Bean Project rice and beans, and hand quilted placemats from the Creative Needle. This gift brings both hearty meals and a handmade touch to the table, turning everyday dining into something a little more special.

More to Come

The first five days of 12 Days of Giving have already shown what is possible when a community comes together with intention and heart. From handmade gifts to nourishing food and creative moments, each delivery reminds our clients that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

There are still more days, more gifts, and more moments ahead.
