A Special Visit from David

At Nourish Meals on Wheels, some of the most meaningful moments happen when the people we serve become part of our daily story in unexpected ways.

Recently, one of our clients, David B., stopped by to visit us and meet Executive Chef Andrew Forlines. David has been a Nourish client since May 2024, and it was such a joy to welcome him through our doors.

There was something especially meaningful about seeing David in person at the place where so many meals are thoughtfully prepared each day. It was a reminder that every tray we seal, every route we pack, and every knock at the door connects to a real person with a real story.

David’s friend, Carol, recently shared this heartfelt note with our team:

Hello! Thank you for the wonderful meals and treats that you are sending to Dave. He is enjoying them and really appreciates the holiday tokens too! :) Please give a special thanks to the driver that delivers on Wednesdays. He is the highlight of Dave’s week!

That message touched all of us.

It speaks to something we see every day: while meals are essential, the human connection that comes with them often means just as much. A familiar face, a kind word, a few moments of conversation, and the consistency of knowing someone cares can brighten an entire week.

We are grateful to David for visiting, to Carol for sharing her kind words, to Chef Andrew for leading our kitchen with heart, and to the volunteer drivers who remind us how powerful simple kindness can be.

At Nourish, it has always been about more than a meal. It is about comfort, dignity, friendship, and connection. And sometimes, it is about the highlight of someone’s week.
