Coloring Kindness

Everyone can take part in bringing color, comfort, and connection to older adults! Whether you're near or far, your thoughtful artwork helps brighten the day of an older adult in Nourish's community. We receive beautifully colored pages from across the country, each one adding a personal touch of joy to our meal deliveries.

Your artwork truly matters—it brings light, warmth, and the joy of being remembered to the older adults we serve.

What Makes Coloring Kindness Special?

Nourish Meals on Wheels' Coloring Kindness Program is more than a cheerful coloring project—it’s a meaningful way to connect with older adults in our community. Every page you create is personally hand-delivered by Nourish Meals on Wheels volunteers, along with a hot, nutritious meal and a warm hello. For many of our clients, it’s not just a drawing—it’s a bright spot in their day and a reminder that someone cares.

Nourish Meals on Wheels serves more than 230,000 meals each year to older and homebound adults across South Metro Denver—including Littleton, Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, Lone Tree, Castle Rock, Parker, and surrounding areas. We deliver more than a meal—we offer personal connection, wellness checks, and a sense of dignity and independence for those we serve. (Looking for more ways to connect? Visit our Volunteer page to get involved with meal delivery, kitchen help, or other special projects.)

For many clients, our volunteer’s visit is the only friendly face they’ll see that day. That’s why programs like Coloring Kindness matter so much—your artwork adds color, compassion, and joy to someone’s daily routine. This program is fully integrated into our mission of helping older adults age with dignity, wellness, and independence. Your artwork may be included in:

  • Daily meal deliveries

  • Birthday and holiday gift bags

  • Wellness kits

  • Monthly grocery deliveries

It’s not just about art—it’s about sharing kindness and creating connection, one page at a time. One client recently told us:

“It made me feel like someone out there still cares about me. I put it right on my fridge so I can remember that feeling!”

Volunteer Service Hours

A meaningful volunteer opportunity—anytime, anywhere

Just like the volunteers who deliver meals, prepare food, or pack special gifts, those who participate in Coloring Kindness are making a real and lasting impact. This is more than just a creative project—it’s a true volunteer opportunity that helps us support older adults with warmth, dignity, and connection.

We are able recognize service hours for those who contribute their time and talent through thoughtful, well-crafted artwork.
