At Nourish Meals on Wheels, our volunteers are the heart behind every knock at the door. Today, we’re honored to shine a light on someone who has become a beloved part of our Nourish family: Kathy A.
For nearly two years, Kathy has been a familiar and caring presence on Route 9 alongside her daughter, Maria, and daughter-in-law, Kira. What began as a visit soon became something much more. Kathy quickly fell in love with our clients and the joy that comes from delivering meals, sharing smiles, and brightening someone’s day.
Their time together on the route is a beautiful example of the power of intergenerational volunteering. Two generations of care, compassion, and service coming together to make a difference in the lives of others. It is a reminder that giving back can bring families closer while strengthening the community around them.

This June, Kathy celebrates an incredible milestone, turning 91 years young.
Her dedication, kindness, and joyful spirit inspire everyone around her. Kathy has shown us all that volunteering has no age limit. It is not just about giving back. It is about staying connected, finding purpose, and leading with heart.
Right now, Kathy is in the hospital and facing a longer recovery. We are keeping Kathy and her family in our thoughts and cheering her on every step of the way. True to form, she continues to defy the odds, and doctors are hopeful she will be home soon.
We're all looking forward to the day Kathy is back doing what she loves most, serving others and spreading joy.
Thank you, Kathy, for your compassion, your commitment, and the love you’ve shared with so many. Thank you also to Maria and Kira for sharing this meaningful experience together. You are a very special part of the Nourish family, and we are grateful for you every day.
