May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to recognize and honor the service of those who have dedicated their lives to our country. At Nourish Meals on Wheels, we are proud to serve many veterans—including Ray, a 91-year-old decorated veteran who has experienced firsthand what it means to be part of a caring community.
"They treat a person like a person, not like a number. They give us cake for birthdays, little cards for certain occasions… I think that’s pretty great." ~ Ray, 91, Decorated Veteran
For Ray, a meal is more than just food—it’s a reminder that he is valued, remembered, and appreciated. From the friendly visit with each delivery to the small acts of kindness like birthday cake and greeting cards, it’s the little things that make a big difference.
As we celebrate Military Appreciation Month, we extend our gratitude not only to Ray but to all veterans we have the privilege to serve. Their sacrifices deserve to be honored—not just this month, but every day.
💙 Join us in showing appreciation for veterans in our community. Whether by volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, you can help ensure that those who have served receive the care and respect they deserve.
