Lockheed Martin Space Team Supports a Day of Meals and Connection

This past Friday, we welcomed team members from Lockheed Martin Space for their first volunteer experience with Nourish Meals on Wheels, right in the middle of a busy day in the kitchen.

Their finance team joined us for a hands-on morning, working alongside our volunteers to help package hot meals and prepare items for delivery across South Metro Denver.

Powering a Day of Delivery

It was a full day of service, with more than 800 meals prepared and delivered to older adults throughout the community.

The menu featured Chicken Fricassee, mashed potatoes, Italian blend vegetables, and an oatmeal cookie, a comforting, balanced meal made from scratch with care.

Preparing this volume of meals in a single day requires coordination, focus, and strong teamwork. The Lockheed Martin Space team stepped right into the rhythm of the pack-out line, helping ensure each meal was portioned, packed, and ready to go out the door.

Small Details That Matter

Alongside meal packaging, the team also created spring-themed tray favors, adding a thoughtful detail that brings a little extra warmth to each delivery.

A First Visit, A Lasting Impact

It is always special to welcome a team for their first visit, and the Lockheed Martin Space group brought a strong sense of teamwork, and care to everything they did.

Their time in the kitchen directly supported a full day of meal delivery while also helping create moments of connection that extend far beyond the doorstep.

As one team member shared, “We had a great time! Looking forward to working with you all again!”
